Protest march January 10th 2015 for an 11:00 o’clock start

Now Christmas has passed it’s time to get active again.

Save Rural Baldock have been invited to join a march around Letchworth on Saturday January 10th.   This protest march has been organised by Save The World’s First Garden City to highlight the wrong thinking behind the council’s attempt to remove protective Green Belt status from around Letchworth and Baldock.

They brought their cause and banners to the Council Meeting on Nov 27th and now would like us to bring ours with them to raise awareness of this planned assault on local Green Belt.

They have cleared it with the Police and need to meet at the Broadway Gardens Fountains at 10:30am on January 10th 2015 for an 11:00 o’clock start. Please tell as many people as you can and ask them to join us. Families are encouraged.  This is a map of the route and the walk should take about an hour.

marchThey still need several volunteers to be marshals, directing the walkers along the route, so if you want to help but can’t take part in the actual march then please consider helping in this way.  Also if you can raise awareness through leaflets, posters etc. please feel free to help.  Bring your banners from the Nov 27th meeting or make new ones using our downloadable posters or your own methods.  The more the merrier.

See you there,

Cheers, SRB

  1. JAK SIMMONS says:

I FEEL I NEED TO COMMENT ABOUT THIS, WE REALLY NEED NOT JUST INCREASED HOUSE BUILD BUT A MASSIVE BOOST IN HOUSE BUILDING EVEN IF THIS MEANS BUILDING ON SOME GREENBELTS IF REQUIRED. NATIONWIDE WE ARE BUILDING ABOUT 140,000 FEWER HOUSES THAN WHAT IS NEEDED AND ON TOP OF THIS WE NEED EVEN MORE BUILDING TO BRIDE THE UNDER SUPPLY THAT HAS BEEN CREATED OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS.
